    creatimage,

Don't rely on Somebody, as your Dealer will be able to help you with concerns such as this at all times. 😉

Any Apple machine other than a tower does not provide sufficient power to the Pback from the FW bus.
Your choices for set-up are to use a Portable Solution ,
or a No Power Firewire Cable - 6>4 pin and then you can used the P25s Battery for power. Both are available from Phase One Dealer.
    See Knowledge Base article:
    http://www.phaseone.com/Content/Support ... nguageid=1

The current version of Capture One 3.7.6 has resolved many Intel Mac issues.
Be sure to install this version, and that you have most current firmware of 3.3.4 installed to your Pback.

Some have reported using powered FW hub devices that are readily available. We understand these are successful, but no make/model is Officially Supported at this time.

the computer is very OK... is Apple still share the wattage for the FW port???

If they do, you only need to insert a FW hub beteween the computer and the camera

    Thanks Keith,

So with the cable, I will be able to use the back w the new intel iMac, right? Can I just buy a high quality Firewire cable w 4 pin to replace my old one?

Do I really need to upgrade my C1 to 3.7.6. I got some problem DL it to my computer. I got disconnection more than 10 times. BTW I tried it here in Asia.

    Thanks again

    creatimage,

As Olivier offers... this machine is awesome and Very Ok !

But yes, you need to have most current version installed of 3.7.6
Download from EU server and if problems, use the US one.
We suggest using Safari and disable any PopUp or Firewall programs.

The 4 and 6 pin FW cables are different.
You will need the No Power Firewire Cable - 6>4 pin which is more of an adapter.

    Regards,

Got my iMac today. Surprise! Every thing work just fine. I used standard firewire cable. I'm using C1 Pro 3.7.4 for some reason. I wil upgrade to 3.7.6 tomorrow.

I love the iMac. Very fast system for my P25.

Thanks for our help Keith and everyone. 😄

    Beware...

Sounds as though you got a good machine.
The overall problem here is the variability in power supplied by the FW bus on these Apple machines.
Again, only a Tower will provide sufficient and consistent power to Digital Backs.

That said, some have used a PowerBook and have no problems. Buy 2 PowerBooks on the same day, 1 may work while the other does not.
You could have easily purchased an iMac that failed.
If you get away with this, great for you.
But I must say that It Is Not Supported by Phase One.
You may never have an issue, but I will share that there have been studios,
that capture to laptop or other machine successfully in-studio.
They then go to a location shoot, get all prepared for the photo session, only to discover there is no connection.
Or a connection, but there are lines in the images due to varying power supplied to the Digital Back.
This worst case scenario has happened much to the frustration of photographers, technicians, and talent.
We in Tech Support are left with no advice other than... it is Not Supported.

The is why the New P21, P30 and P45 have a setting for Power of Battery.

For P20 and P25, what is supported is:
Portable Solution or No Power Firewire Cable - 6>4 pin
