I assume you have updated to Mac OS 10.4.2 yesterday...

Have you repaired the permissions, after the Mac update? If you did and it still does not work, I suggest you download the Combo update from Apple (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ ... combo.html) and reapply the 10.4.2 update. This solves a lot of problems.

I have Mac OS 10.4.2 and C1 3.7.1 and no problem...

I updated to 10.4.2 and 3.7.1 yesterday on my PowerBook G4 - no problems. 3.7.1 with 10.3.9 on G5 Dual 2.0 also no problems.

I am having serious problems with 3.7.1 and OS 10.3.9

After some time building session previews, C1 spits the hard disk and crashes. I have to restart to mount the disk...

Back to good old stable, reliable 3.6SE ?

I have tried everything. I installed the 10.4.2 combo, I repaired permissions, I even build the directory with DiskWarrior and 3.7.1 crashes still (3.7 works). I wouldn´t like to rebuild the whole disk and install everything from zero because every other applications works fine. I have a few utilities like You control, Default Folder, Chronosync Scheduler and Sticky Brain but in my knowledge they should not cause any trouble. Very annoying.

    Kimmo:

This is very weird indeed. It seems you have done all the right things. Here is something else you might want to explore...

Some Mac users have had some unexplainable problems if Virex was installed on their system. You might have heard of that...

Anyway, if you have Virex on your system you might want to run an uninstaller and see what happens.

You may not remember you still have Virex or some associated files somewhere. This was my case. I had version 7.5, I ran the uninstaller for 7.5 and, guess what, there was one associated file remaining which was causing a strange misallocation error in Single User Mode. After the uninstall, the allocation error was gone.

You must use an uninstaller to get rid of all the associated files. Don't try manually.

Here is the link to McAfee Software, where you can select the uninstaller you want:

    http://www.networkassociates.com/us/dow ... irex77.htm

This might be a long shot but you have nothing to lose. Keep me posted!

    Kimmo,

Two things spring to mind in addition to the advice already offered:

    1) I would suggest moving the Capture One preference file out of your HomeDirectory/Library/Preferences folder, and then starting up Capture One 3.7.1 to see if it makes any difference.

    2) Does the crash log give you any clues? (located in HomeDirectory/Library/Logs/CrashReporter). It may be worthwhile sending the log in to support.

    Hi guys

Thanks for all the help - unfortunately same thing goes on. I haven`t had any virus programs on this CPU yet (and not viruses I hope). I removed the preference file with no effect. I have not knowledge enough to check out the crash log but I sent it to PO support. I hope they also read these messages and they have time to answer.

By the way - Photo Mechanic 4 image browser is incredible fast showing D2x nef files.
