Prepare Apple Aperture Library for CO Catalog Import
I am preparing my Apple Aperture Library for importing into Capture One Pro 12.
My folder/album structure is:
Primary Subject folder (e.g. "Travel") > Secondary Subject folder (e.g. "New York") > Year folder > Month folder > Day project (e.g. "20190219").
For some primary subject folders, I will have dozens of projects (broken down into sub-folders). Will this have an adverse effect on performance?
Other activities:
I am flattening hierarchical keywords because I did read some time ago that hierarchical keywords are not available in CO. They seem to be now, but I presume they still will not be imported into CO.
I am reducing the number of images I have - deleting poor or duplicate images.
I plan to make sure that I do not have too many values for IPTC attributes, as I've read here that having many values for an individual IPTC attribute causes poor performance.
I assume that Apple Aperture Custom metadata will not be imported into CO, so I don't have to do anything with these.
Since Smart Albums are not imported, I will create Albums based on these Smart Albums before importing.
Thanks very much for your help in getting me to give up Apple Aperture and move to Capture One Pro.
Cheers,
Francesco.

I would do a test with a subset of your Aperture Library. The keyword hierarchy might work, not sure. 0
