Ratings not updating to and from Media Pro 2SE

I use xmp sidecar files to let me work between Photo Mechanic and C01.

Changing a star rating in PM is instantly updated in CO1.

Changing a star rating in C01 is updated when I refresh the file in PM.

No changes are reflected in or from Media Pro. Media Pro obviously read the XMP sidecar files when the database was created, but now it does not seem to be reading or writing to them.

Have I missed a sync setting somewhere. I have manually synched the folder in Media Pro (but folders are set to auto-update anyway) and shut it down and re-opened it, but it makes no difference. No star rating are exchanged between Media Pro and C1 or PM

Have I missed a Media Pro sync XMP setting somewhere?

  You need to sync annotations manually:
  Action > Import Annotations
  Action > Export Annotations

  Ah, that never occurred to me, I obviously just assumed it would be kept up to date via the XMP sidecar file.
