Processing scanned TIFs

Hi!

I've just bought C1 last week because of the great results it delivers while processing my E-P1 raw files.

I'd like to use it also to process scanned black-and-white film. I'm scanning it in 16 bits grayscale, saved in TIF files. Even if C1 shows the images, their thumbnail has the "read only" eye icon and I can't do anything with them... Colour TIF files, however, work fine.

Anyone has the same issue? Is there some workaround?

  CO4 can show multiple types of TIFF/JPEG files like RGB, CMYK, Grayscale, but it can (apparently) only adjust RGB type. Workaround is to output your scans in RGB TIFFs and convert your Grayscale to RGB.

  Thank you, that's probably the only option but the files will be up to three times larger...
  
  I think I'll do my scanning workflow like this:
  
  1. Photoshop Elements:
  - scanning as 48 bits
  - saving as 48 bits RGB TIF files
  
  2. Capture One
  - selection, exposure adjustments, etc.
  - output to 24 bits RGB TIF (compressed)
  
  3. Photoshop Elements
  - clone brush to remove dust
  
  4. Capture One
  - convert 24 bits TIF to JPEG
  
  Ufff... Couldn't it be easier?
