Capture One Pro 8 Sharpening? What do you think?

Hi,

I realize you can lower or even disable sharpening
on image export.

I was just wondering what people's thoughts are
on the default sharpening that is applied?

I like the default settings, but I know some
people may feel the sharpness is too extreme
for female portraits.

What are your thoughts on sharpening the image
at the raw stage vs sharpening the image on
final output from Photoshop?

  I find for shooting fashion with digital backs the 140 setting on sharpness is too much, I turn it down to 100 every time or keep it in a style. When exporting to a TIFF I always disable and unsharp mask in Photoshop. I leave sharpening on for Quick Proofs or large Jpegs that I are for layout or client previews.
  
  For DSLRs I leave the sharpness at default, but still remove upon export.

  I think on Dslr's 80 to 100 works
  pretty good for me on export.
  
  Any reason you like to disable it?
  
  You prefer using Unsharp mask in
  Photoshop over sharpening the raw
  file?
  
  What are the advantages of unsharp mask?
  
  I don't mind a little extra sharpness
  coming out of the raw file.

  I mostly like the default output sharpening that happens on a Pro8 export.
  
  There are times, however, when the output is reduced in size that I wish I had some control over the sharpening amount applied during Pro8 export. I find there are times when I actually want MORE sharpening applied when the image size is reduced.
  
  When this scenario comes up, I tend to solve for it by over sharpening in fullsize RAW within Pro8, and then the re-sized output gets to where I want it. The defect in this solution, however, is that I would produce a way over-sharpened output if it were at fullsize.
  
  I prefer to do it this way, though, versus needing to get from Pro8 to some other tool to control sharpening with more granularity.

  I am confused on something. If I set the sharpening in C1 to 140 then when I export it to Photoshop if I disable sharpening it won't include the sharpening applied earlier? Or is this more sharpening on top of the 140 added in C1?
