I shoot in the ADOBE RGB 1998 color space in my canon.

This has absolutely no effect on the RAW files. It only affects the jpeg files produced in your camera. In fact none of the custom settings affect the RAW data, which is just the sensor data parcelled up into a CRW file.

You do need to make sure that C1 knows about your monitor profile.

FWIW I have a 10D and have no problems with colour matching with C1.

I see.. thanks for your answer.. So i guess my camera profile setting in the C1 software has nothing to do with what color space I shoot in (the color space does not affect raw files anyway) and I should be choosing the Canon 10D generic profile.. Thanks again..

    petepagan,

The correct camera profile is set based off the file's EXIF data. So the 10D profile should be set automatically.
Yes, RAW files don't have a color space. The color space is established upon processing by your settings under Color Management and at the Process tab. Be sure these are set to what you're after. Also be sure the monitor profile is set correctly in Capture One, Color Management; and if you are comparing color with Photoshop, be sure that you are using Soft Proof and that the same ICC profile is set there as well.

    Cheers,
    kc
