My 60-Day trial is almost over and software is buggy.
I downloaded the trial and everything was working fine, but over the weeks Capture 1 Pro 6 is getting unusable. When I drag an adjustment slider the preview screen goes black until I release the slider (can't see live changes). When I click to select different images the preview area shows a garbled mess until the image loads.
System:
Mac OS 10.7.5
8 GB RAM
Solid State drive
Any help? I won't purchase if it's going to be this buggy. Thx.

don't know your system but setting open CL to never in prefs. 0 -
and C1Pv6 works very well overall (best its been in years since v3)
if you are having issues - it can probably be traced to a specific computer setup issue.
make a support case - they will respond.0 -
I tried to email tech support but you have to have a purchased license code to get into there and I don't want to put down the $300 if it's going to be more trouble than just continuing to use Lightroom 4. My system is pretty new, and definitely is on par with anyone else's MacBook Pro out there currently. 0 -
i dont think you need a license to make a support case. just a login & password.
where did they ask for a license?
anyway - I work on professional photoshoots and I am a retoucher too. Everyone in my industry uses C1Pv6 for our images. I use Lightroom for family pics. C1Pv6 is known for its superior color rendition and camera profiles. Lightroom has more feature but Capture One started out as a tethering application - so hopefully that statys as its focus.0 -
The license key is a required field in the dialog to open a support/contact tech.
I agree, my experience with C1P6 has seen better image results than LR3/4. I'm too a professional shooter. I found C1P6 when I moved to NYC and the techs there use it so I thought I'd give it a go. But I have to have it work, and I can't sleep well with paying for something that has bug issues when you can't get any support with the trial and there's even less resources online for how to learn to use it. Bummer it doesn't have the support/education resources that Adobe has.0 -
I'd start with setting OpenCL to never in preferences and see if that solves your problem.
I had my own issues with COP but once I set OpenCL to never, all of these issues are gone.

Create a support case and we will help you. Put "trial" in the product key field. 0 -
I changed open CL to "Never", seems to have solved it. Let me play around a bit more and make sure. I'll check back in and let you know, thanks everyone.

yes that's what i recommend for most users. also in Photoshop I set the GPU performance settings to basic - that helps with slowdown problems. these applications seem to only work well with a small set of GPU's. 0 -
Yup, that took care of it. Running pretty smoothly now. Cheers-

I would agree that unfortunately C1P6 lacks the support/education resources that Adobe has. I'd like to gather manuals and relative materials at https://domyhomeworkonline.net but it takes time.
