color saturation problem w/ v6
Long time user of 3.7, am using trial version of 6.1, Images seem to need almost 30 points of sat boost to look even close to normal with Canon 1dmk4. Monitor is profiled, and final prints match lab. C1 is showing mk4 generic profile. Any help would be appreciated

Larry,
There is too many variables and not enough detail in your post. Post the specifics of your workflow, color management setup and maybe even some examples. Without those, any advise you get is pure speculation.0 -
What sat value did you typically use in 3.7 for similar results? 0 -
Using the same camera, and while saturation is subjective i like my portraits more saturated than the profile creates...
If you're referring to the Saturation control in the Color Balance tool on the color tab, I'm not sure that 3.x had that feature. I belive the only equivalent would be the Saturation slider on the Exposure tool under the Exposure tab....and that seems to be about the same tool as the only saturation adjustment in 3.x. If the numbers are not exactly the same, no matter. IMHO, a higher number simply means that the selected range is broader so that adjustments are more subtle over that range.
Stay tuned for the feature of making your default saturation level a style (which you can already do and apply to all) which can be applied on import, not just tethered. That will allow 6 to perform as 3.x did with a default saturation....I don't think there's anything wrong with this tool, 30 points on the exposure tab works well, just a different number than 3.x....hope that helps...0
