I'm not sure if this is related in any way but I have noticed a few times in the past few days some rather strange screen handling, For example.

Editing an image where the recalc can take a while, once of twice the re-drwan image has been only partially re-drawn and appeared at the bottom of the main image window as a 'corrupt' looking file partly overlaying the prevous correct version that was still on screen.

I have also noticed, yesterday, apecuiar correcption of a coupld of the tools in the tools meny on the left of the screen (in my case). For example the Lens adjustment tool only have the top 4 or 5 lines displayed and the rest of the display area was either corput or just not there. Minimising and maximising made no difference but if I detached the tool to float it looked fine. Put it back on the left and it was corrupt again. Other tools in the same section at the time seemed OK but I did see once or twice some similar odd looking displayes in smaller toll windows.

At the same time, sometimes, the Windows desktop does not correctly re-display and fill the screen on return from power saving ...

I came to the conclusion that this must be a windows problem and so re-booted the system and all seems to have been well since.

The only other possibility, still operating system related though, is that a small update for the graphics card management control software installed a few days ago may have introduced some new 'part time' challenges.

This is using 6.3.2 on 32bit Windows 7.

So I would recommend a re-boot, if you have not already tried one, to see what happens.

If the same folders and the same images are still affected are they all from the same camera and is there anything unusual about that camera? Has it produced any odd results before? Could it be a memory card issue by an chance? Do all images form the same source exhibit the same problem? Have you tried re-uploading the problem images?

Aplogies for no answers but hopefully the question may set off some thoughts that lead to enough information to diagnose the problem.

Sounds like the images may be derived from a scanner - possibly greyscale and/or have no assigned color profile.

As Drew says, provide a file to support and we will see if it is the case.
