"Offline" tag?
My experience with C1 is on a Mac, but I just moved over to a Windows 8.1 laptop for travel. C1 appears to run OK (I have 8G RAM and 128 G SSD). When I load an image, I get a small translucent tab with the word "offline" on the top margin of the image. It also has a question mark, but clicking on it doesn't do anything.
I'm wondering if this may have something to do with tethered shooting, but a search of the various help tutorials etc. hasn't helped. Not a big deal, I guess, but since it appears on every screen I would like to know what it is so I can either turn it off or just ignore it.
Thanks, John

This is a feature of the catalog. The original file in not stored inside the catalog but outside, a.k.a. referenced. When the physical link to the file is broken, the image is considered offline. A typical scenario is that an external or network disk is disconnected (or the computer is disconnected). Also moving either the catalog to another computer or the original images to another location invokes the offline sign.
You can still browse through the previews, edit (not all but most of the adjustments) but not process or print when offline. Once the disk connection is restored, the offline sign disappears.-1
