default session gone in C1 express.

I'm an amateur photographer and i have been using C1 express since version 3 very satisfactory. I really liked the session concept although the express edition only had 1 default session but that was working fine for me. I create a folder structure for every "session" with subdirectories.

1.Imports
2.Selects
3.Develops
4.Edits
5.Sized

as session directories. I dump my memory card contents in the 1.Imports directory from which i move the good pictures into 2.Selects where i'll edit them and then finally process them in the Develops folder. Edits is for photos edited outside of C1 and then sized are resized for prints or web.

I upgraded my license now to C1 express 7 and am very dissapointed that this default session is gone in the express version. Catalogs completely break my workflow which i was mainly using C1 for. I dont really see how i can apply my workflow onto this catalog. Any chance this feature is coming back to the express version? Is there a workaround for moving pictures from my imports folder to my selects folder? I guess phase one's preference is me to upgrade to pro, but i don't really have the budget for that.
