Adding GPS data?
I have both Capture One Pro 10 & Media Pro SE
I used to use Lightroom to add GPS data to images but is there a way to add this data to images either using Capture One Pro or Media Pro SE or do I need to use another application since I'm trying to get rid of Lightroom?
Any advice would be very welcome, thanks.

NOT an expert user here; but.....
I believe that the type of data that Capture One categorizes GPS coordinates as is not modifiable to a raw image thru Capture One.
I have the reverse problem with my Sony A99M2 - it DOES capture the GPS data, but I want to include the city/state/etc. Someone on this forum recommended "GeoSetter" and I've had great luck with it. Cannot speak to modifying raw files; I add the data to JPGs. But I believe that it will work for raw files too.
Good luck and report back how you fare, if you choose to give GeoSetter a go.

Thank you for that information; I've just downloaded GeoSetter and as soon as I get a chance to go and take some more images I'll give it a try.
thanks again... 😊0 -
Hey Richard_Allen - want some good news?
It is spectacularly beautiful out in Connecticut right now; so I took my dog for a walk after making myself modestly productive by raking the yard ("garden" if you're not from the U.S.).
I popped a few images of the dog running thru the fields. Your question was bothering me; so when I got back, I loaded the card in and imported into C1. Downloaded the raw files; and opened GeoSetter and set about assigning the GPS coordinates. Like a charm!!!! It took logging off and back on for C1 to recognize it; but they're ALL there. I hope you have the same luck with yours if you give it a try on GeoSetter.
I know it's an extra step; but i'll be the last one to complain about C1's functionality. If the geniuses at Phase One saw it best not to let users over-write to the EXIF data; then I'm sure it's for a good reason.
Enjoy the day.

Hi Richard,
If you have Media Pro, you can enter the GPS coordinates in either decimal or degree format. You'll have to scroll down and cycle through the panel via holding down CTRL and numbers (1-5). I forget which, but one of these will trigger the panel, where you could embed information for the City of the image, etc.
In other for C1PRO to see it, the exported should be XMP. Within C1PRO, select an option to "Reload" metadata in the Information tab.
Unless I overlooked something, C1PRO can't embed GPS data, only through MediaPro or other 3rd software.
For example, there's a building on my university campus. I'd use Google Maps to find approximate GPS coordinates of that building. Once obtained, I input the values into the corresponding field in MP. Voila.[quote="Richard_Allen" wrote:
