Big disappointment.
I was reallly excited when I saw the news item about the offered upgrade to a new Media Pro from such a well known company. I promply sent my $59.00 for the upgrade from Expression.
The excitement soon passed when I installed and ran MP. I dragged in a folders worth of 148 jpg's and NEF's. Once I seemed to get a successful result. The next time, I made the mistake of trying to scroll through the file list as files were being loaded. That caused a send to Microsoft? error. That was the end of success. I tried a folder of 7 files. That caused an immediate error message and program exit. Now I always get a crash on trying to load files.
Expression under Microsoft was painful and I finally dropped it and began using Bridge. I now fail to understand how someone like phaseone could have not only released such a joke, also asked a dollar amount for the privelage.
After 45 years of hardware engineering and software development, the modern ethic of dumping less than beta quality software no longer surprises me. It seems like an acceptable trend. In my day, it would have meant no less than termination.
Good luck phaseone, good news travels fast, bad news even faster.

Please be kind to the users. Phaseone does not need luck. If they sell so low quality software for so long, they must have plenty of it. Wish it to the users...0 -

Joe,
I had exactly the same problem as you - constant errors and freezing up, especially If I tried to view or scroll through the images as they were being imported.
Even if I left it alone the whole program would either freeze and the 'not responding' error would occur, or it would just sit there with the little spinning wheel thing for ages, and then I'd find the program would not respond to my mouse of keyboard and then freeze even though I was just importing a few hundred images at a time.
Not a good start, especially as EM2 was faultless on my machine...0
