D2X and 'as shot' white balance encryption
Just wondering... What is Phase Ones's approach to this problem with Nikon. Do you have a similar outlook as Adobe?
Many thanks

I do not know what outlook Adobe has and I do not know if reverse engineering can solve this issue. For know it is a \"unsupported feature.\"
Mean while we hope that Nikon will come to thire senses because thire own software ain't that great right? 😉0 -
I couldn't agree more.
Thanks for the reply.

Just a thought, what would be your workflow in terms of getting around this encrypted white balance issue with C1?
Thanks

Either shoot a preset white balance in the camera.
In reality there is only one way to get a perfect white balance and that is to shoot a grey card and then balance in the application it will always surpass doing a in camera white balance.
Try it out but make sure you have a GOOD grey card, not a 10year old paper one which has been laying out.
With out promoting any one but as an example WhiBal sold at www.rawworkflow.com is really good.0 -
Hi,
Just a quick word of thanks for the fomal version 3.7. This works great for me on my D2X as I generally either grey card my shots or run the white balance in daylight sunny mode. The emulation of this mode in version 3.7 is very good. For me this has made a good work around for this problem with the D2X.
Thanks
