Lumix G1 DNG to Capture One Pro 4
Hi:
I'm new here and I have downloaded the trial C1Pro. I convert my Lumix G1 Raws to non-linear DNG but C1 doesn't open them or even recognize them. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
John

1) stay w/ .RW2
2) http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/gsar.htm
3) gsar.exe -sPanasonic:x00DMC-G1:x00 -rLEICA:x00xxxxD-LUX:x204 -o *.rw20 -
I had read about this but I don't have a clue as to how to run gsar and replace the extension.
Thank you.

download, extract, copy & paste (command line), etc...0 -
Excellent tip from Dee1. However, NN148757, you seem to be in need of more elaborate instructions, for example how to execute a command. Are you familiar with the Command Box (a.k.a. the Command Prompt) in WinXP or Vista (whatever you - NNxxxxx - are using?). Next, navigation to the proper folder with the images might be a problem and finding the executable when in that folder.
Just try to assess what seems to be the problem. What makes perfectly sense for one, can be difficult to grasp for another.0 -
Thanks for the clarification Paul. I'm not a novice and I thought it had to do with the Command Prompt when I saw Gsar instructions. It seems an awfully hard way to get to the desired result. I think I'll stay with Lightroom for now.
I still don't understand though why C1 won't open a dng file from an unsupported camera even without all the bells and whistles of a supported Raw. I mean, Lightzone opens it fine without the recent G1 update.
I smell Leica interference.
Regards.

they did not promise to support linear (or converted from original raws) DNG files...0 -

actually no, but it depends on your workflow of course - I am copying .RW2 raw files from my Panasonic LX3 (it works the same way for G1 as for LX3 - the raw files are similar) into some folder and just run this program once in that folder, that's it - all .RW2 files will be modified at once and ready for C1... and btw - you still will be able to open them in LR too after that modification.0 -

In the beginning CO4.x accepted only lossless compressed DNG conversions. Maybe you might want to look into that because I agree that it is odd you can't open the converted DNGs.0 -

I would create a command file with the syntax if that is possible (which can not determine from the post here, would need to get into it more) and use %1 and %2 variables for example.0 -
Thanks to all for responding. I tried all versions of DNG and nothing seems to work on C1.
Again, the Gsar solution is a bit convoluted to me especially since it seems something prevents C1 from recognizing those particular Dng files.
I'll keep looking.
Thanks again
