If I understand the air brush feature correctly, I don't think it is just applicable to a mouse. Before v9, you could brush with a reduced capacity, but if you went over the same part of the image twice (in the same brush stroke) it didn't make the mask any more opaque. (Of course, you could apply a separate brush stroke and go over the same place again and then it would get more opaque.) My understanding of the air brush option is that going over the same place, or going more slowly, does make the mask more opaque, and trying it out seems to confirm that. I don't see why that behaviour wouldn't work with a stylus on a tablet as much as it would with a mouse or trackpad.

Nop, it has been there for several years 😉
We use the same industry-default as Photoshop, so our default is size.

Personally I like this much more than opacity. When using dodging and burning techniques on skin in Capture One you constantly vary the size of the brush. This would be very cumbersome if I had to change the brush size manually for almost every stroke.

Air Brush does not really apply to a graphics tablet; that is really for a mouse, right?

It applies to whatever you like working with. Wacom actually have an Airbrush style pen for this purpose.

    Not entirely correct, but close.
Opacity: Will add this amount to a mask, but never more within the same stroke.
Flow: Look at flow as a sub-divider for Opacity, so if Opacity is 50 and Flow 50, one stoke will apply a mask with 25% opacity. Drawing on top of this mask, without lifting the pen, will add further to the mask.
Airbrush: Will honor Opacity and Flow, but will add the mask over time. So if you hold down the pen or the mouse-button, it will continuously add to the mask while pressed.

I second that. Brush pressure should define opacity, not brush size. Besides, with a Wacom Intuos you have a handy wheel to change the brush size.
