CO LE 3.6 - strange artefacts
I have downloaded and am evaluating Capture One LE 3.6. I have no prior experience with this program, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. The problem is, strange artefacts appear in images converted from my Canon Powershot G3 RAW files. They look similar to what I have seen in the output from DCRAW, except with CO they're not as prevalent throughout the image -- but still quite annoying! Have a look at the crops in the page below, comparing the output of CO LE 3.6 and ACR:

Noise reduction and sharpening turned down in both converters. Note I'm not talking about the colour aliasing, which I can easily get rid of during conversion or in post-processing. It's the dotted artefacts that are bugging me, as they only get worse with sharpening.
So far I like a lot of what I've seen in CO LE, and would seriously consider adding it to my toolbox, if it weren't for this problem. Since support for compact cameras is new in CO, I'm wondering if this is only limited to my camera model. Have looked at all options in the program, but still found no solution. Any suggestion (I still have 14 days)?

Have you tried different noise reduction settings in C1?
Have you completely turned off sharpening in C1? You say you've turned it down, but you can turn it 'off' in C1. Don't recall where this setting is off hand as I'm at a different PC at present. There's a check box called disable sharpening on output or something similar.
Without knowing these details it looks like it might be noise reduction too low or sharpening too high or both.

Hi Alan,
Thanks. I have now located some noise & sharpening settings in \"File|Preferences\", but they didn't seem to help. Have updated the page with examples using several combinations.
Anything else I should try?

Another thing that I noticed, although not related to the dotted artefacts: the crop of the G3 sensor data to 1704x2272 pixels (3:4 aspect ratio) is off (displaced) by a few pixels when compared with the output of Canon File Viewer Utility and Adobe ACR, both of which produce exactly the same crop.
