C1 v4 PRO a memory hog?
Well i tried the pro version and pretty soon after i started mc PC started slowing right down. I even stopped browsing and went to an empty directory, but in task manager C1 was still using 70% of the resources and growing! Result was my machine ground to a halt, amking the pro version unusable!
Swapped back to normal version of C1 v4 and all is well! (EDIT - all is not well the non pro version acts the same)
Anyone else experienced this?

CO 4.5.x is using considerable more memory than 4.1. Whether this will make using it impossible depends on other programs running simultaneously and the amount of resources of course. It adds up.
Nevertheless I hope memory use will decrease in upcoming releases.0 -

Sure i agree, but if i just open a few files and make a few adjustments then wait and do no more, the memory usage on Task Manager keeps going up and up until the program stops responding. This is down to bad memory mangement as I have a reasonably fast machine, P4 3.2 with 2GB of ram and no other programs running.
photoshop CS3 has no problems opening and processing 500MB files and when it has finished processing it releases the memory allowing more work to be done. C1 doesnt and grinds to a halt! this is really useless!

Have you already opened a support case with Phase One? This might help in getting this fixed.
On the other hand, I run CO4.5.x on a much more modest machine with only 256 MB RAM, for testing and support. Not for heavy use, but it has not halted either.
Problem with performance issues is that one needs numbers to compare. In other words, how large memory use is for a particular process. This level of detail is in general to much for the average user, which is not meant as an offense. More often than not other factors are part of the problem as well but remained unnoticed until Mr. Hungry comes on stage.0 -

i have now opened a support case as I keep getting this problem. Earlier versions of V4 did not behave like this on my PC, but I cant get the earlier vesion now! i will have to wait for a fix!
