Custom Tool Tab problem

Trying to set up C1-7Pro (in trial mode) the same way I've always done with C1-6, I created a custom tool tab with my most used tools. All worked well. Quit C1. Restart. C1 crashes every time. Only way to get it going again is to trash the prefs. Pain and sorrow... I really need this for my workflow, any ideas? (i've already started a support case)

iMac i5, 8GB RAM, OSX 10.7.5

  yes, there is something wrong with saving preferences...
  
  after a crash try to restart C1 this way:
  - point at a session file in the finder
  - right click, "open with" C1-7
  
  now also regular restart should work fine again.
  does this work for you?
  
  
  edit: as to your custom tab:
  before shutdown C1-7, save your workspace (window->workspace->safe as)

  Yep, did that. Still crashes, but at least I can easily restore the custom tab.
