Processing problem - variants
I am new to C1 coming from LR. I just made adjustments on 15 raw files and want to process or export them to 16 bit tiff files so I can continue work in PS.
I am having a problem due in part with my LR experience and terminology.
1. I created a recipe: format tiff 16 bit, uncompressed. resolution 300, size fixed at 100%, open with none.
2. I selected all the images - all 15.
3. I want to have just 1 tiff - with all the adjustments I made in C1.
4.If I do command - D and select all I get 3 copies of each raw file converted to tiff. An example shows sizes of 107 mb, 108.2 mb, and 517.6 mb. I pick the largest one and discard the others.
5 If I do command - D and select "only the primary variant" I get 3 copies of just 1 of the 15 files.
6 What can I do so I just get 1 copy of all 15 raws, art full size 16 bit?

Hello,
Sorry but you lost me after step 2. Once you selected all 15 files, what was your procedure then? If you selected process, how many recipes did you have selected?
Unlike LR, C1 will allow you to select and process multiple recipes at once. Make sure you have only checked 1 export recipes.
Hope that get you started.

It sound like you have 3 recipes active when you process.
Try ticking the box for "Show only Active recipes" (or something like that) and see what is listed.
When you write "I only want to have one TIFF" do you mean one for each of the 15 images (15 files) or one file for all 15 images as a merged file?
If you want TIFF from each separate file then you need to process each variant in this case mot just the "Primary" variant (the one with the widest white border is, in this situation, what is being referred to as the Primary variant.)
You can also toggle the selection to be "All selected variants" or just the one Image to give you more control over the process. Check the menus and the icon that looks like 3 stacked rectangles.
HTH.

Thanks Troy and HTH. I did have the 3 recipes checked. 0 -
Have you tried round tripping to PS without using TIFF files? You can create a PS file and edit away, and then the PS file is imported back into C1 for you. It works very well. 0
