Capture One Pro v4
When can we expect the Pro version of c1 4 to be released?
Is was told 3rd quarter of 2007. Well almost a year later and I haven't seen or
heard anything about it.

And there are at least 20 photographers in my City wanting to know that very answer. 0 -
I find the lack of information as frustrating as the late delivery! 0 -
Do yourself a favor. Forget Capture One.
I preferred C1. I'm now using Lightoom. I didn't precisely ejoyed it at first, but you get used.
C1 has always been, and always will be, like this. They will promise you a heaven of image magnificence, and they won't deliver. You wait, in the hope it will finally come. But you're still waiting. And you'll wait even more.
There was a time when I considered coming back to C1 if they finally delivered what they promised. No more. I won't touch a Phase One product again. I can0t trust them anymore.
So... as I said, do yourself a favor now, because in the end, you'll end up doing just what I, and a lot more other people, did. Find an alternative.0 -

This is a rhetorical Q really, but answer if you wish. Since you ar so anti Capture One products, why are you even bothering to browse here?
My observations tell me that many products today are late when measured against a 'promise'. Others are rushed out prematurely to 'keep' promise. Either way, the consumer suffers, IF they let it bother them. Leica users are very familiar with this scenario, but by making the best of what's available you can usually find some benefit in it. Whilst just a little 'glitchy', my take on C1 Ver.4 is clearly superior to alternatives I have tried. It did take some time to learn, but so did all my cameras.0 -
Because I'm not anti Capture One.
Because despite what I said, If Phase One would ever release a Capture One Pro 4, I would be tempted to give it a try.
But, the way things seem to work here, user reports and feature requests are ignored. Improvements suggested by users are completely ignored, time after time. And, if in exchange you could have at least a functional program, maybe you could get used to it.
But you get NOTHING. Capture One in its actual form is a JOKE. People still needing to use an Antique version like 3.7.x is a clear sign of what I'm saying.
On the other hand, Lightroom ... well, adobe is not known for listening too much to users, but at least they seem to getting things more or less right. And development is in progress. It would not surprise me we would see version 2.x before we see a C1 4 pro.
By the time C1 pro gets out of vaporware state, Adobe will have developed it's product enough to make that "new" Capture One 4 pro look like a thing of the past.
The only thing still ties me (emotionally 😉 ) to Capture One pro is color. I don't really like Adobe's colors. And the C1 pro profiling tool is unsurpassed. But if Adobe ever gets this right, there will be no turn back at all.
Anyway... I can not live on promises. I've been using C1 3.7.x for a long time, but my needs have been changing, and C1 is not up to the task, or so it seems.
So, that's why I was here... to see if a year is enough for Phase One to deliver, or if I still better come back in another year or so.0
