backing up workspaces, how?

I have built some elaborate workspaces and saved them. Where are these saved? I'd like to back them up so I can use them on another computer.

  Many user settings are stored individually and can be backed up and/or transferred to another computer but workspaces are not part of that. Workspaces are stored inside the USER.CONFIG configuration file, which stores the preferences as well as numerous other settings. Of course you can backup the configuration file, but transferring to another system is a different story.
