Import C1 Settings into C1 Catalog

I don't think you have to import the settings. As long as the Settings folder is in the right place (as a subfolder with your images), only the preview needs rebuilding (if you want to). When you would actually process the image from CO7, it would automatically take the settings.

You can try that by opening one of those images in edit mode (which means, just find it and click it). It should be showing the recent edits.

If it doesn't, i hope someone else will chime in to put me right 😊

    Hi Thomas,

Your assumption is correct (and user HCS not, I am afraid).

The point is that with a catalog, the adjustments are stored inside the catalog's database. Importing adjustments is only possible during image import.

If you work with a RAW editing service which work with CO7, you'd better do either one of the following:
    - work with sessions until you receive images back from the editing service, then you'll import them into your catalog
    - send a catalog (images stored inside) to your editing service and have them send it back to you after their editing; next, export them from that catalog and import them into your cumulating catalog.

Either way, only after external editing you import the images into your final catalog.

Thank you for the clarification - it's what I thought it would be. Admittedly Adobe's dual system of xmp and catalog adjustments is more flexible and mature here. 😉

Fortunately this was more of a one-time case, the current way we (try to) do it is to send a catalog but the service only using the offline version (now that's where Adobe copied - with LR 5 ...).
I still need feedback from the editing service on how well they can work with offline versions and then see how much I like the product.

But it looks like an awesome way to do it. The catalog upload is sleek and fast. 😄

No need to be afraid Paul, thanks for jumping in and correcting me. I learned something today.

It's pretty lame though, question being why the Settings folder is there then.

Thanks for educating us and hoping P1 will work on this in future releases.

It's only there when you work with Sessions. They rely on that folder and have their settings in there.

Catalogs neither need it nor do they create it.

Did you notice i haven't really worked with the catalogues in C1? 😄 😄 😄

Great thread for me, learning so much. I hope it benefits the OP as well.

BTW, i use MP for cataloging tasks.
