Possible Export Fault

Where does the "Favorites" folder reside?
Could it be a directory change that solves it and therefore a possible directory conflict that causes it?

Hi Drew, sorry for the delay. Weekend an all.

The favourite folder was within the session folder. At the time, I created a tiff from the raw and it exported to the "Output" folder within the session and then tried to create the jpg from that file. It then returned that error.

That said, this morning as the mac had been rebooted, it worked fine so I guess what ever was bothering it resolved it self after the restart. Thanks.

    Edit.

I was able to reproduce the fault. It seems to do with permissions after editing the file from an external source. I opened a file into Photoshop and saved the file, after that I received the same error. Drag it to a new folder within the session and it works.

    Edit 2

It also happens when you keyword the file from an external app such as Photo Mechanic. It falls over and refuses to export the file until you transfer it to another new file. You can keyword Raw files with Photo Mechanic and then export the image but if your working on heavy manipulation and have to create a Tiff in PS and then keyword the file afterwards, C18 doesn't seem to like it.

Problem still exists. See edits above

Vital information is whether one application is running while the other tries to access it.

So for testing: Close CO8. Edit a Tiff in PS. Close PS. Open CO8. Process.

Hi... yes, done that and I still receive the message below.

Description: There was an error during the processing of the output file.
    File: /Volumes/Izel SSD1/Sessions/2014-09-29 Dice Concept Shots/Output/izel_140929_dw_live-life.tif
    Domain: com.phaseone.captureone
    Code: 19

I created two Tiff files via a recipe that were saved to the "Output" folder. I then selected the jpg recipe and ran it without a problem.

Then, I went in to Photo Mechanic and added some meta data and went back to C18 to confirm it was there. I tried to export without exiting and it failed with the above error. I then closed both C18 and PM, re-opened C18 on it's own and tried to export the file and the same error occurred.

Tiff file = No layers, No compression etc.

I'm running into something similar (and have an open support case with Phase on it--with repro case, screencast, and the whole bit. Getting Phase to acknowledge this has been uncharacteristically difficult, and I'm really hoping that it gets fixed in the next release!).

As far as I can tell, the error19 has to do with C1 not updating the proxies and thumbs properly when you edit a processed TIF file externally (even if you close it).

Screencast for a couple of ways to break it:

    http://www.screencast.com/users/mkphoto ... 78a7a791a8

In CO7, you could work around cases like this using Regenerate Previews--I'd occasionally end up with cases where I'd do an external edit, and CO7 would process (and view) the old file. You'd choose the edited file, hit Regenerate Previews, and you'd be fine. Regenerate Previews appears broken in CO8.

The workaround for this that I've been using is to create a little shell script that does:

    rm CaptureOne/Cache/Thumbnails/*tif*
    rm CaptureOne/Cache/Proxies/*tif*

and run it in whatever folder you're processing from that has problems. Reopen CO8, wait for the previews to regenerate, and you're off to the races. Annoying as h***, but it gets the job done.

    Reinstall your system.

Interesting. I find the regenerate previews works..... i.e. it refreshes the image in C18 if I've been using Nik software. That can often leave layers with tiff file so it's always good to check this as C1 hates layers.

When I use C17 I don't have the problems I'm seeing in C18 so I know it's not system related, it is connected to C18. Hopefully Drew will come back with something.
