Ian, best to spend a few minutes to create a support case request for the feature if you had not done that already. Brings it higher in the priority ranking.

    Done. Case 78952 submitted.

Submitted using the most confusing system I have used in ages. Gives me an empty drop down box to select my product. Tells me I have no products registered. Seems that CaptureOne is not a product after all. Only PhaseOne cameras and databacks are products !

Phase One tell me they cannot support Panasonic cameras because there is political conflict with supporting Leica.

I know that there is some commonality between certain Leica and Panasonic models but the G series has nothing in common with Leica. Plus Phase One already support 3 of the 5 G models. I did push them on this to check that this wasn't a stock answer.

If Phase One are limiting their allegiances to certain blue-chip manufacturers then their market share is surely going to decline.

I note that Phase One have only added support for the Leica X1 in the latest release and only 4 non-Leaf cameras since last year.

I have now had my G2 since May but it is still unsupported by Capture One. This seems quite ridiculous given that the G1, GF1 and G2 all use the same CCD and processing engine.

there still might be differences in the things in front of the sensor (IR/AA/CFA) resulting in a slightly different output... however if you want to have it now, before P1 will add the support, you can use exiftool ( http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ ) to change the camera model tag the raw files (it will create backups by default) from G2 to G1 and proceed w/ using C1... I am using that w/ Panasonic LX3 (to Leica DLux4) w/ no ill effects

I remember reading something about Panasonic being butts about their raw files and not letting many software developers usable with their cameras.
I can't seem to find where I read that, ATM, but will try later.

    Hardly.

Phase One is always quick off the mark with support for Canon and Nikon cameras, and they constitute by far the biggest section of the market.

    Gentlemen,
All I an tell you is that proper support has been requested and is currently being looked at. With Panasonic the water's are a bit "tricky". When it comes to support there are both hardware/software hurdles as well as political concerns. Please be patient... if we can do it we certainly will.
