On my first try with just a few old photos, it seemed a bit faster; especially with the local adjustment brush.
    Good job, crew.

I left Captureone 6.4 and went to Lightroom 4.x, because K-30 was not supported for nearly one year. I submitted a couple of tickets asking for support and help with DNG color issues. I still have a v6.4 license and was considering upgrade or leaving the forum one day. But I never ever received any official customer information that K-30 is now supported. I am very surprised to read now about the K-30 support. This lack of information distribution to existing customers is not really good for business.

A strange information issue happens on PhaseOne website. The german language site says, that Pentax K-30 is not supported, but on the english site it says, that K-30 is supported.

    http://www.phaseone.com/de-de/Supported ... era=Pentax
    http://www.phaseone.com/en/Supported-ca ... era=Pentax

What is true? Does K-30 support depend on the C1 software language setting or on the language setting of the camera GUI? or on my national IP address 😊

Just updated to this version and I can no longer print. I select file print, the print screen opens, I then select page setup and then change paper size from A3 to A4. At this stage up pops a crash report which I fill in, press send and Capture One exits. Printer is B9180. First thought was that it might be associated with fact I have latest AMD catalyst drivers installed (needed to make Photoshop run smoothly) but even switching openCL off for both display and processing does not cure the problem.
Operating System Windows8. Machine is Asus P9X79 based with 32gig RAM. Video card is AMD 5770

    Edit 23 May

I completely wiped Capture One from my computer and deleted every trace of it I could find (in app data etc etc) and then re-installed as a completely fresh installation. Program is now running correctly with no crashes so far.

I give up, while I still like the output capture one can produce I have attempted to wipe it from my system.. I say attempt because despite using the remove application Capture One is far from removed and I keep finding bits of it still hiding in App data, etc etc. I have given up on it because of its flakiness and more important the horrors that have been introduced in trying to graft a catalog system on what was a excellent stand alone RAW editor. Can we please go back to the version 6 interface free of catalogs - until then I feel I have wasted my upgrade fee.
I will continue to monitor progress on debugging this beta programme and may be tempted to use my licence again when you eventually issue a fully de-bugged working programme.

Unless you have CO Express 7, you can totally bypass the catalog system and with with sessions and disk folders the way CO6 does.

I was running full pro version and using sessions but found if I used process recipe to export a file to Photoshop as a tiff and then saved it and exited and shutdown photoshop I had 2 versions of the tiff in my directory but I could not delete one within Phase One, I just kept getting messages that the file was open in another programme, which it wasn't. The only way to delete the file is to shut down Capture One and delete it in explorer. It is this type of odd behavior that makes the programme so frustrating.

    David,

I don't use PS so don't face your problem but, as a matter of interest, of your 2 TIFF files, you wrote that you could not delete one of them - was that the Capture One version or the PS version?

I assume Capture One version as that would have been opened by Photoshop and then you would have saved the revised version from PS back to wherever you saved it.

If my guess is correct then you are trying to delete a TIFF file last opened by PS and C1 is finding a status attached to the file for which it is coded to deny a delete attempt.

Does that sound about right? Or have I misunderstood?

That's more or less it and thinking about it it could be that Photoshop has put some sort of lock on the file. Lots of strange things seem to happen with file naming etc. when you try to do a round trip out of a directory in Capture One to an outside programme, be it Photoshop or one of the NIK applications - Silver Efex Pro being the key one I like to use, and back into the same directory in Capture One. Lightroom is designed to do this but I guess it is pushing Capture One to do things it was not designed to do.

Lightroom, being part of the "family" might be expected to understand anything interesting about in incoming file format. As I understand it not all TIFFs are equal.

In effect I would assume that C1 expects mostly to see a flattened file but the Family may, by default, retain some aspect of layers that would make the file more useful in the future for anything PS like but not possible to use elsewhere without some further, destructive (to that version of the file) changes. When I say destructive I mean it would need to do something to the file to make it usable and so could not return it to its original state, wth added changes, anyway. So in effect, on the basis that destructive editing is not allowed by policy, a new version of the file would have to be created.

I would assume that somewhere it should be possible to create a Tiff that is readable as a standard Tiff in order to allow C1 (or indeed some other program) to read it and do something with it. (I guess my simplistic question would then be - why? Seems like a lot of effort that maybe could dealt with some other way?) But what else would you do that the trip through LR/PS/EFx/whatever had not achieved or could not deliver?

If it is to do with catalogues then I suspect my thought would be turning towards having and external (to all editors) catalog system for final output from any source - especially for "archive" stuff that is not attracting a lot of editor traffic.

But our needs could be very different.

    Hi all,

With this 7.1.2 release, I finally decided to upgrade from v6. A couple of issues that I have noticed (note that I am using sessions):

    1) The default skin tones were missing in v7, only my saved presets from v6 were visible. After some digging around, I found a "Skin Tones" folder in the v6 folder that wasn't in v7. After copying the folder over, the defaults are now accessible.

    2) I use the 4-digit counter in my output naming, and I notice the counter does not stick like v6. It always resets to 0000 each time I startup C1. Is this intentional or a bug? If the latter, perhaps something related to a missing file/folder/setting that I can fix on my own?

    3) Whenever I select the crop tool (from an uncropped image), it always starts with a default crop. In v6, the whole image would remain uncropped until I actually started dragging the crop borders... is this intentional or a bug, or something that I messed up?

    Hi atwl77,

    3 questions, 3 answers

1> The build-in skin tones of the White Balance tool are missing on my CO7/Win system too. I consider this a bug. I will report this to Phase One. The do exist on CO7/Mac.

2> The counter reset on restart appears on my CO7/Win system too. I consider this a bug. I will report this to Phase One. The counter does not reset on restart on CO7/Mac. In addition, the counter on Mac resets (manually) to 1, not to 0 as on CO7/Win.

3> The crop on an uncropped image comes - most likely - from the lens correction tool. It crops out the distorted areas. Set the distortion slider to 0 (zero) and you have all your pixels to you available.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize lens correction was on as it usually isn't set by default in v6.

Correct, that is what changed in CO7. The other issues (1 and 2) are already reported.

This version seems to work with amd radeon new drivers. Good news. I agree with all what is said regarding the counter. I noticed that lens correction finds automatically Schneider lenses but not Phase One lenses (at least the 28mm).

Something that would be great for 7.1.3 : viewing multilayer Tiff with masks. Because it is a nightmare to edit an image in photoshop and to be obliged to flatten it if there are some masks involved.
