Sessions deletes all edits

Hell , I am experiencing a problem when switching from one session back to a previous one where all edits made on images in the previous session are gone. The images had all been processed but if I need to go and rework the images everything is lost, white balance, layers, exposure adjustments and even the symbol that shows it was processed. This started with the last to upgrades.

  For clarity, what version are you using?
  
  I had the same, or very similar issue (twice), but have been free of any edit losses since 12.1.2. I raised a support case and was told that a known bug was being worked on ... which I assumed had been dealt with in 12.1.2.
  
  My interim fix was to back up my sessions before trying any cross-session work so that I could always restore/revert
