How to make duplicate Versions of the raw files
Hello,
I'm a satisfied user of C1, since I tried Aperture (wich is heavly demanding processing resouces), I'm wandering if there is a Way to make Duplicate Versions of the original raw files (as you can do in Aperture, who knows about Lightroom ?), that i think is a great feature I miss in C1.
thank you

how about duplicating them within the original folder on your drive? The file will be called ......copy.tif
that's all...

Why do you want to duplicate the RAW file?
Beside backup I don't see why you want to duplicate...

Very simple, I do this all the time:
In C1 go to the Organization Tool, create a new folder and name it (Copy perhaps).
Go to your Capture folder and OPTION-DRAG whichever image you want to duplicate into the Copy folder. This will create a copy of the file with it's own thumbnail and preview file. Go into the Copy folder, rename the file and then DRAG (not option-drag) the file back into the Capture folder (or leave it in the copy folder, up to you). You will now have two copies of the same file to which you can make seperate adjustments to. Of course, the other thing you could do is simply make one set of settings, save it as a Style and process it out, then make a second set of settings and save it as a second Style and process that out. I prefer to have multiple copies so that I can see them both at the same time.

I find it easier to simply duplicate the file in the Finder. You can leave it as the default "Name copy.cr2" or change it to fit your needs. NOTE: Doing this while C1 is open can sometimes create erroneous settings, previews and thumbs... I always close. If you want to duplicate a RAW that has had settings created you want to duplicate make sure you duplicate the settings file too... otherwise you have to go back and reinput the settings.
As to WHY you would do this...
I've got a great shot but want to see what it looks like with my curves inverted or in black and white but don't want to lose the work I've set in my color version.
I've got a great shot that I need to do 2 exposures on to make the foreground pop more... i need one setting of the raw exposing the foreground and one for the back.0 -
Thank yuo all for the advices,(I'll try them). But still I think that a one click procedure should be a fine tool to implement in a newer version of C1.
Thank you again

Lightroom seems to be working fine but I can only export RGBs... Where are the CMYK profiles... I only work in CMYK 0
