EM Reader2 hangs after migrating media to new drive
This posts relates to our experience using EM Reader2 for Mac on several machines, accessing the media drive over our network.
After using EM2 successfully for several years, we recently we migrated all of our media and catalog files to a new 2TB drive. We renamed the new drive the same as the old. When a catalog file is opened, it seems that the media is linked and everything is in order. However, when attempting to preview a movie or audio clip, the EM Reader application will intermittently hang, causing the need for a Force Quit of EM Reader2 and occasionally the finder will also crash after the FQ.
Does the catalog need to be rebuilt ("Rebuild Item") in order to overcome this problem? We have spent many hours setting custom keyframes for many of the video clips. Using the "Rebuild Item" command resets the keyframe to the first frame of the video clip.
Any insight would be helpful.
