Tidying up Keywords auto complete list
Hello,
I think I have a very basic problem, but the solution eludes me! I would like to clear up my Keyword list and delete some entries so that they won't show when auto complete runs.
For example - when I start to type 'landscape' the following options appear:
land
lands
landsc
landscape
Obviously I would like to lose the first 3 options and just have landscape show - there are other words that I would like to delete including mis spellings. I don't know if there's a folder hidden with the iMac registry or if the option is staring me in the face within the C1 interface. I'll be very grateful if someone can point me in the proper direction!
Thanks in advance,
David

You could try this.
Metadata tool > open action menu (three dots right) > Reset Metadata Completions.
Let us know whether this worked.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply Paul, greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately your suggestion didn't work. I tried it a couple of times, and came out of C1 both times and re-opened but I'm still seeing the same options for Auto Complete. In fact, on first glance, it's hard to see what effect the reset has as I still see what I did before!

Hello David,
I'm not sure if this can be a option for you.
First, you must make sure that the wrong keywords are assigned to any photo.
Then you need to exit C1, remove ~/Library/Caches/com.phaseone*
Ans as last you need to manually edit ~/Library/Preferences/com.phaseone.captureone8.plist and remove all wrong keywords. Do you have to be careful but that is not a textfile - you need plisteditor
It is so, because the keywords are not in the database ☹️0 -
Thanks for the reply Robbie, but unfortunately the suggestions weren't successful. I had a look in both the folders you mentioned and I can't see anything at all for Phase One in them.
I'll drop Support and email and see if they can help out....thanks again for taking the time.
Best wishes,

David, just for your information, please note that ~/Library refers to the Library folder in the user home folder, not the main library folder. The user's library folder is hidden by default. It can be accessed from Finder > Go menu, press Option key to list the Library folder.0 -
Thanks Paul and other contributors. I used Prefs Editor and it seems to have done the job. This functionality really needs to be built in to CO. 0
