Auto adjustment questions
Hi another question to tax, or maybe not, your C1 knowledge.
1 is it possible to auto adjust , using auto exposure, a batch of raw images for every thing except exposure?
2 if not and I doubt you can, is it then possible to remove the exposure change that has been made across a batch of images by auto exposure only rather than have to go to each image and remove the exposure change?
3 this may be a Sony thing but in my full Sony version the highlight correction is conservative to say the least, in most cases there is much that can be recover manually that the auto recovery does not even do, is there a way to tweak the sensitivity in auto?
I regularly have large batches of images to bulk process that global adjustments work fine for hence the auto questions.

In the Adjustments menu, there is an item for Auto Adjustments, where you can select from 6 things that will be adjusted in auto adjustments, which are White Balance, Exposure, High Dynamic Range, Levels, Rotation, and Keystone. Mine are set to Exposure, HDR and Levels, but you could deselect Exposure if you wanted.
I hardly ever use the global auto adjustment, but I assume this will do what you are asking for.

Edited to add: or you can click and hold the A button to see those options.0 -
Thanks Ian,
Sometimes it's so obvious you don't see it, I knew that the A for auto at top right has a drop down but completely forgot to look there and change it.
Now to find out why the auto over exposure is under under sensitive I have feeling that altering the highlight end from 255 might be the answer.0 -
... and if you want to remove an auto adjustment setting on several images, all you need to do is to select those images and hit the small Reset button on top of the specific section. A security confirmation will warn you that you're doing such a reset on several images. 0 -
I am new to C1 coming from Aperture. Would it be possible to apply auto adjustments to a group of images too? I have selected a bunch of images and then go to Adjustments > Auto Adjust (or command-L on the mac) but it only modifies the first image of the selection. Am I overseeing something? Thanks! 0 -
The Auto Adjust function works with any number of selected photos. For selection of individual images press and hold Ctrl and click the desired images; for a selecting shots in an uninterrupted sequence click on the first, then press and hold Shift and click on the last. Then you activate the Auto Adjust via short key or via the "A" in the top right section of the screen. If you click / hold on the "A" you'll see the list of auto adjustable parameters (those to be performed or not can be checked / unchecked individually). 0 -
Hi sandervd,
It's possible when the Edit Selected Variants is activated.

Thanks both!
OLVR - that was the bit I was missing. Coming from a fresh install of C1 the icon is by default not visible so I had to add the icon to the toolbar first.0
