Importing RAW files from CF mounted in camera

The above clearly suggests that I can expect to import files from a CF card which is mounted in my camera (Canon D60)
I have set the Capture Preferences to automatic.
I simply cannot get this to work (New Media Connected Dialog never appears) - I can operate the camera in Terhered mode (and import the images so captured), but I cannot import any other images which are on the card.
What else do I need to do - or has this facility been withdrawn?
I find a similar problem with C1LE (3.5.1) on the PC - I cannot find the Camera Storage Icon (refferred to in the Help File) in the C1LE Toolbar.

UAre you connecting your camera to the computer by USB cable to do the import or are you using an external card reader?
We have never had a problem using an external card reader.0 -
Yes, I am connecting my Camera to the Mac via a USB cable.
And, yes I have no problems if I use an external card reader. But my external Card Reader has failed!
Hence my attempts to read from my camera!0 -

A CF card must be be formatted with the standard that creates a DCIM folder. It is the presence of this folder that launches the Phase One Media Reader.
The View Camera Storage icon is on Windows PRO only and functional with v3.7.3
Selecting this Icon places a tab of [i]Camera Storage[/i], images can then be selected and moved to a newly created Session tab.

So this feature (importing images from a CF card mounted in a camera) is not available on a Mac - why can't your documentation make this clear?

I guess I don't consider downloading from a camera External Media. Most workflows i've seen involve a card reader.
To me the External Media is the CF card inserted into a CF Card Reader.
Downloading from a card inserted in a camera typically involves that cameras software for communication and ability to do so. A connected Canon with CF card inserted does not mount in Mac OS. Capture One 'sees' the camera for tethered shooting, but not downloaded of images within.
Yes, in the Windows version of PRO with Canon DSLRs, the ability to do this is present.

Oh dear, a very 'fine distinction'. I assume you are speaking on behalf of Phase One?

If I may repeat - this explicitly includes the connection of 'a camera with a removable storage media' in the definition of external media.
Please note that Canon's Digital Photo Professional does not find it neccessary to make this distinction and allows one to import images directly from a CF mounted in a Camera. This is also on a Mac - so I really dont see what the OS has to got do with it!

Well, here is My Own Personal distinction based on common sense...
It is illogical to download images from a card inserted into my camera because it is much much slower than using a Card Reader.
You had one, it failed. So, it should be easy to spend $25 to get a new one and have faster downloading of images.
If you really need to have CF card images download via the camera on Capture One Pro Mac, this is a Feature Request and can be submitted through Provide Feedback...
And if you believe there is documentation that is misleading, please provide exact location of the document, what version of the software it pertains to, and the exact chapter, section, and page that is misleading.
