JPG output - how does it compare w/Aperture?

I notice that my JPG output files coming out of C1 are about 1/2 the file size compared to what Aperture would put out for me. Both applications were set to 100% quality to minimize lossy data compression. C1's JPG files are 8 - 12 MB where Aperture would create a file between 18 - 21 MB. I don't see anything in C1's JPGs when I zoom 100% for some pixel-peeping fun so I'm not complaining. What does C1 do that Aperture misses out on?

  Did you check if the pics have been scaled down to the same size in Aperture and in CO?

  Yes, I verified the resolution of the JPGs created by C1. They are 24 MP.
