Image Preview - Hardware Acceleration. Any connection...?
Windows 10 x64
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070: Driver Version 23.21.13.9077
I applied to be a beta tester a while ago and after an email about the latest release arrived today, I finally got round to installing C1 11
I noticed in General Preferences that "Hardware Acceleration Doesn't Work" (HA) was showing.
There was the usual lag/shimmer when rendering slider adjustments that I had been experiencing in C1 10, in addition to the poor quality of the preview image.
I deleted files from the folder C:/Program Data/PhaseOne/CaptureOne/ImageCore and rebooted C1. No joy, still no HA and still the usual editing lags and display issues.
I then looked in this list from the C1 site https://www.phaseone.com/en/Search/Arti ... cleid=1720 and noticed that my card isn't listed. However, the list is a bit dated.
So, I ran Driver Talent (great little app) and it recommended an update for my Nvidia card. It installed the driver listed above.
After installation, I ran CC Cleaner to clean the registry. I then cleaned the above ImageCore folder again.
Only then did I reboot C1 11.
I immediately browsed to Preferences and I saw that C1 was enabling HA. I had never seen this before. It took about two minutes to complete.
When it was done, it said, "Capture One is using hardware acceleration."
So, I opened a file.
1. It is tack sharp. I have never seen the image preview so good. It looks like a TIFF open in Photoshop.
2. The effect on the image of any changes (moving sliders or whatever) is very smooth.
C1 has never felt so good. Happy days! 😄 😎
D.
Ps. I closed C1 11 and opened C1 10. HA working there too.
