    If you have not repaired permissions with the Disk Utility, then I suggest that you do that as a first step. Disk repair is always advisable after updating the OS. If that does not help, then consider re-building the drive with some third party software, such as Drive Genius. If that fails, then submit a support case to Phase One.

    I had this issue and eventually called my Applecare Protection plan number. They were very helpful. It was partly a memory issue, partly a disk repair issue and there were various other spring cleaning things we did which got the machine running faster. Disk utility definitely helped. I was about an hour on the phone to them doing various things and afterwards all was well.
