C1 books, anyone?
Over the last year, on several occasions I have spent a few hours trying to figure out how to effectively use C1's features in a workflow. I'm a portrait/wedding photog with a studio in the US for the last 30 years. I shoot dslr's (Nikon/Fuji) and am totally pc based. I use C1 v.3.7.6.
I can load a few images in and do a very nice conversion in C1. I love the files it generates. I can NOT figure out how to use it for a bunch of files in process, such as I can with Adobe Bridge/ACR. I think I must be missing something and am very frustrated that I cannot find answers.
For examples, the documentation shows very few keyboard short-cuts, and there seems to be no way to apply a complete set of adjustments from a pre-set list, you can only apply presets from one tab. In Bridge/ACR you can make all sorts of presets, involving any of the "developing" parameters from exposure, WB, lens adjustments, sharpening, noise, calibration, hue, etc. ... or only a few. And then simply choose a image or group and apply without ever opening up the image in ACR.
I am sure that there are many things about the usability of this program I do not understand, and I want to learn more. The tutorials and knowledgebase articles either give short and cryptically undefined statements or simply state the obvious.
Are there any books out there in print on using C1 such as Bruce Fraser's books on Adobe Bridge?

funny you should say that - it took me 2 years to realised that you can actually change an area colour and brightness without affecting the rest of the photo, you can even adjust the strength of the area you are working on,
This is done with colour editor and click on the dropper then choose the area, work the sliders and bingo!!0 -
I've been around the forum here long enough to know that you are far ahead of me in utilization of this program. And it took you two years to find this ... I've been through every article of the dB that I can get to by searching, and found a couple things like that. But their search setup is very unwilliing to give up possible hits, IMO.
Frustrating, isn't it? A program with apparently so much to it and so little and sparsely written documentation.
I've tried searching the Knowledgebase for articles on folders, capture folders, sessions, etc, ... and most of the time I'm told no valid results were found. I wish you could just start at a directory of articles and pick and choose, rather than having to try to figure out their lousy search engine.
I wanna learn this program ... doesn't anyone at P1C1 wanna help?

I'm grateful to recieve such a detailed reply. I've been through the tutorials, the faq's, the knowledgebase, and watched the forum here for the last year or so.
Perhaps a definition of terms would be useful, also. And I'm looking forward to V4 with baited breath.
