bluish haze

I was wondering with what kind of color corrections to treat the bluish tint you sometimes get in "long distance" landscape pictures (think mountains, lakes, etc). I've been using the color balance tool with a setting of 60 degrees and 2-4%, but that is just a first try. I am sure there are better ways. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
