What settings are stored Capture One internal RAW file?

Capture One does not write any settings to the RAW file, one of the fundamental reasons I use it. (IPTC data may be attached but does does not write to the RAW file, it is simply a header to theRAW data). Capture One settings are saved and linked with a small data file in the created Capture One folder in the image folder...as well as the Capture One previews.

You may use Capture One to move the file, keeping the data file attached (another Cone Data folder will be created in the new Image folder if none existed, and the data for the single file will be transferred there. That would be transparent to the user and is very elegant.)...or you can copy/move the file with Explorer with no data (and even copy the COne folder in your image directory, that would then contain the information for all the files in the image folder, less elegant).....I'm not sure which you want to do...

If you're really curious, open a settings file (*.cos) into a text editor and take a look. Use caution if you want to make changes directly.

You can also pack a raw file as EIP. This will Zip the raw file with the settings file. Easy for transport.
