LOCAL ADJ. SHARPENING FILTER RADIUS(TRESHOLD)
Would like to remind Capture One team that already reported "BUG" ,which is specific for Win platforms only , are still
present in v7.1.3 .In adjustment layers sharpening filter do not have radius and threshold settings available(kind of alignment problem due to certified C1 instructor) and that reduced options for microcontrast(kind of sharpening adj.) which can be applied in specified areas of image. That's work fine on Mac which is obviously preffered choice between C1 team and pro photographers ,otherwise I think it would be solve already. It's not fair isn't it?
Price is same , support and usability would be also same, so please consider that problem in (waiting) next release. This bug
was reported from version 6 and still...?
Thank you and sorry but waiting become frustrating and never ending..........Kind Regards
Dean

Thank you....D 😊 0 -
Hope gone again , 7.1.4 is here but nothing new again. It's not about patience ,it's about care and support expected from "High End" company (hardware and software),hard to belief that software eng. team cannot solve this issue, they can make
jump from 230Mb package to 180Mb (don't see why that matters) but important "Bug" stay and stay.
I'm opening this topic because got feeling that nobody care and question is do software people forgot this or other things
are more important.I see many strange issues people have, many are from not enough knowledge but this is essential
tool(local sharpening radius, threshold),if work on Mac mean should work here as well (more than year old problem??).
Disappointing, let's buy Mac-sorry,tired of disappointing.Imagine that I buy your medium format back, lenses -probably
would blow about this,but?!-yes ,than I would buy Mac also. It's careless I think, nothing else-now let's forget about it and
just adopted workflow to what we get for the buck.
More care about Win users
wish you D0 -
Just want to add finishing touch as I see other people look at this topic so I would like to clear my opinion about C1v7.
Until V7 C1 was one of the best RAW converters with image quality at top priority ,overall image quality , but after introducing v7 it become BEST.To explain this I shall say that I use ACR together with Photoshop(great way to multi passes
raw conversion using Smart Objects),Photo Ninja-nice , but in C1 v7 new way to handle definition(signal to noise) problem
,removing noise and preserving details even in deep shadows do not leave any doubt about quality which this software deliver. Also output can be adjusted for any output color space(not only sRGB,AdobeRGB and ProPhoto) and upsizing engine
is better(by my opinion) from many expensive third party tools.
Way of work is thing of learninig and adopting, image quality is target of all our efforts , so...
Still , some bugs should be solved faster,to be fair it seems that Windows are become more and more harder to work with
with every new release(now using Win7 64bit Ult.).0 -
Hi Dean,
I understand that you're waiting for the addition of the threshold parameter for sharpening in Local Adjustments. But just out of curiosity did you already experiment with the Clarity function in the Punch mode and adjusting the Structure by some positive value how this will affect the micro contrast and the detail rendition in you images? This function is completely avaliable for Local Adjustments / Layers. Depending on your subject I think this may be an option for tweaking the subjective impression of sharpness / detail rendition - perhaps with some advantages over the tradicional sharpening or complementing it.0 -
Hi,
yes I use exactly that way to compensate mostly radius , by default I like to leave radius at 1 and lower sharp. amount
but would like to add sharpening with different radius for clouds and lower for stone texture for example, for now ,of course,
I use structure for texture things and clarity for bigger radius local contrast. In many cases would not like to apply any overall sharpening(spoiled natural lens blur in some cases).
Yes ,thank you ,but already working and it's good in most cases but would like to get all tools which I paid for-it's just long
waiting for bug solution, want to remind guys for that, that's all.
When I wrote about this (not in forum but to support team) they didn't know about it because they use Mac-s, than one
certified instructor react and confirm bug(said it was from v6) , mean need to remind them from time to time,or never
going to solve it.
I would enjoy to have Noise red. in Loc.Adj. also but for that purpose I also use negative values of Structure tool.
So, don't worry I 'm making satisfied results with available tools , just no bugy version would be better.
Have a nice day Michael D0
