v3.7 Pro Freezing Up... So what's the deal?
First of all, let me say that I've been using Capture One software since version 1...
Due to the amount of posts over the past 3-weeks or so, it's obvious that there's an issue with v3.7 Pro freezing up on both Win/2000 and XP/Pro machines when browsing through thumbnails. I have the freezing up issue as well, on a machine with a 2.8ghz Pentium IV with 2gb RAM, running XP/Pro.
I've yet to see a response from Phase One that takes responsibility for the fact that there indeed IS an issue, and nothing to the effect that there's a bug fix in the works. Meanwhile, I've had to revert back to v3.5, which was the last stable version of the software released.
I still believe that Capture One renders the best RAW conversions, (although RSE is closing the gap quickly) but I really think that Phase One needs to re-work their testing protocol and release bug-free software. The future of this fine program depends on that.
A little (justifiable) venting...

The issue has been around scrolling with scroll mouse wheels which has surfaced. We are working on this and trying hard to be able to replicate it. Any know of feedback is extremly welcome, use the \"Provide feedback\" feature in the software under help.
Detailed hardware description will be appreciated.0 -
I have the same problem and I use a Wacom Intuos tablet with pen, not a mouse.
According to P1 support I should uninstall the C1 software, clear the registry and reinstall but I feel this is a standard answer for unidentified bugs 😕0 -

I've started sessions by just navigating through the thumbnails using the arrow keys on the keyboard, and not even touching the mouse, with the same discouraging results...
A semi-happy v3.5 user 🙄0 -
We are not exactly getting a lot of feedback on this, are we? 0 -
As long as I don't use the scroll mouse, C1 Pro 3.7 won't freeze. But as soon as a scroll mouse wheel gets involved... forget it. 0 -
I take that back. Just lost 30 minute's worth of editing when the program froze from using the arrow key to scroll through thumbnails. 0 -
1.)I have the same problem. (also at version 3.5). Sometime you have a lot of pictures in de workflow. The C1 freeze. Sometime, when I use other programs in the time of developing of C1. Sometime when I do nothing, just wait. This problem is on desktop computer (Xeon 3,6 GHZ, 2GB Ram) also on Laptop (1,6 Centrino). It is horrible when you lost the work and spend 1 to 3 hours more work.
2.)the problem with the scroll mouse is new in the version 3.7. Sometime crash the program. C1 window close. All in work lost.
3.)I find also a Bug. Turn a picture 20 or 30 % and than you make a crop. Put it in the workflow an look the final Picture.
Sorry the bad english.

i have the same problem here, the freezings started since version 3.6 for me and this is very dramatic because it affects directly the program's workflow. I think the lock ups are due to the EXIF or at least has something to do with, those exif info pop-ups while rolling over the mouse cursor over the thumbnails. Personally, i dont care at all about EXIF and i NEVER use it, if there was a user preference setting to disable the whole exif process, that could help i think...
some custom tips to minimize the loss of your editing work:
1) go to preferences > save options and check there 'save when changing image'
2) there is a pass around to not lose the check marks, just rename the file , for example add a '!' at the begining of the file name to find easily your selected pictures if the application will freeze during the thumbnail scroll
3) the capture one preview folder where are stored all the generated preview files needs some attention as well, mine has grew up to 48gb i was pretty shocked to see such a wastefull use of space., make sure your drive is well defragmented.
lets hope this annoyance will be fixed some day...0 -
uhh any news??????????

No... that's the problem...
By the way, my custom tip to minimize the loss of hours of editing work is to revert back to v3.5, which is the last stable version of this software. 😕
