Exporting issues...
I am using a MacBook Pro running Sierra. Recently I have had an issue with exporting. This past weekend I took some waterfall photos. When I edit the photo in CP1 v11.1 it looks the way I intended it to after editing. However when I export the image, it looks very desaturated and the exposure is very different. I'm sure it is probably something that I am doing, but this has not happened in the past. The images are Sony raw files. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry but I can't figure out how to add images to this thread.

Have you got a proofing profile set? (on the View menu, near the bottom) 0 -
Selected recipe is checked... The selected profile in the recipe is sRGB profile. 0 -
Just checking that you also have Recipe Proofing turned on.
To provide example images you will need to save them to a file sharing location and then post a link (to display or allow connection via a click and view facility.) There is no internal upload, store and display option for the forum.

and compare the preview to the output image at 100%. This will provide the best WYSIWYG color rendering as it will eliminate the variable of application-side image scaling.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I have checked and the proofing is on. I guess since I don't have the ability to post to an image service I am out of luck. I'm really puzzled because other photos from a different shoot seem to export okay, matching the edits. Perhaps if I remove them and reimport... who knows. Thanks again for trying to help. 0 -
Since your output doesn't match what you see, there is a mismatch in color profiles - somewhere.
There is a color profile selected in "Proofing Profile", which is under view, since it controls what you see on screen.
There is also a color profile selected in your Process Recipe. This controls how the output is manipulated.
In most cases these should match.
There is a handy setting under "View", called "Show Recipe Proofing". This uses the same recipe for proofing and exporting. I'd try selecting that to see if it resolves the issue.
There is also a color profile setting in the camera, which becomes part of a JPEG image. I discount this as a potential problem source, since what you see on your monitor is OK.0 -
hey everyone. i want to add to this because it looks like i may be having a similar issue. i'm new to this software, and fairly new in editing software in general, so i may have missed something here.
i made some adjustments to a RAW file (color adjustments and presets) and exported the file with the variants as a jpeg file. when i open the exported jpeg file in preview, for a brief second the image looks like the adjusted one, but quickly changes back to what looks like the unedited version. i've tried exporting in different formats and the issue is still the same. i've checked to see if if recipe proofing is on and it is.
any help would be appreciated.0 -
I had odd issues with a humpback whale breach sequence, four images edited and sync applied to ensure consistency in colour. The resulting jpgs rendered fine on a Mac and PC but when printed one of the images came out as if no edits had been applied. All exported at the same time with the same recipe. 0 -
I suggest both Tim Trimm and '6840885 open a support ticket.
A jpg file typically contains a thumbnal in jpeg format as well as the full size image in jpeg format. There may also be a preview in jpeg format. It sounds like the main image in the exported file isn't always being updated.0
