    Dear Dillon

Sharpness settings depend on too many factors to give a true answer in one go. I keep C1 sharpness disabled because any USM depends on how the images will be used. USM should be the last thing done before output. Colour corrections in PS or retouching should all be done first.

Digital files are massively improved by using 'selective' sharpening techniques in PS.

My sharpness settings seem to change with my moods 😊 Seriously I've noticed Capture 1 has much more usable sharpness tools now than when I first tried them some versions ago, I think they're particularly useful on batch work that needs very little additional processing.

I recently changed my settings from the default and find much more detail in the shadows of long exposures. I keep sharpening set to Standard Look, but both values at 0, and Noise and Banding also at 0. This also helps reduce moire in fine patterns.

Interesting to note that disableing sharpening and setting Standard Look to 0 are different. Standard at zero gives some sharpening even at 0.
