Proof profiles
can any one explain how the view_proof profiles_ works?
if I select any of the custom paper profiles I have saved they seem to put a sort of hazy layer over all the thumbnails and the working image?
does not matter which one I pick from custom ones to generic epson ones they mostly all the same there are some exceptions in the epson ones but for papers I don't use?

and that is exactly what is supposed to be happening. When you print to paper, especially matte paper, you will loose a lot of dynamic range. Viewing the image with the proof profile visualises this change. You should less of a change when choosing a profile for ultra glossy, ultra white paper. 0 -
ok thank you, it is just completely different from what I am used to seeing using soft proofing in lightroom or photoshop , hence the question. 0 -
When you use print from Photoshop, you can see the same effect if you simulate paper white 0
