Show Grid and guides - Does not show anything

Hello,

For sometime now, the function "Show Grid and guides" does not show anything. No Grid, no guide... I checked the preferences, but it did not help..

Any tips for me ?

  Two questions:
  
  What exactly are your settings in 'Preferences' - 'Crop' for grids and for guides?
  
  Could it be you accidentally removed the guides, for example by dragging them off the image and dropping them outside?
  You can 'Clear Guides, 'Add Guide', 'Remove Guide'' from the 'View' menu.
