3.7.3 doesn't make thumbnail previews
I'm on OS 10.3.9 on a G4. Usually when I load several hundred images into C1 I choose mini thumbnail size to force it to generate previews immediately. I've just upgraded to C1 Pro 3.7.3 and there appears to be a bug. Even though all the mini thumbnails are shown in the side column they're blank thumbnails. It doesn't generate previews until you individually click on each one - obviously not practical when dealing with 500 images at a time. It seems to generate the first few previews for each card I import but leaves the remaining thumbnails blank and stops there.
Also, even when all the previews have been generated, it's much slower displaying the full image than previous versions. Only when you've actually displayed each image does it return to full speed when you return to that image, so I would imagine that the preview still hasn't been fully generated until one has displayed the image.
Any ideas or is it a bug that you will be fixing?

Joanna,
This issue occurred in the Release Candidate v3.7.3 but was fixed in Final Release of version 3.7.3
If you are indeed using the Final version, then try deleting the file called com.phaseone.application.captureonedslr.plist located at ~/Library/Preferences. ~ means your home folder.
Restart and see if that helps.

I am using the latest version and I've tried deleting the preferences. It partially did the trick and now it's reverted to only making a certain number of previews and then getting stuck with a whole load of blank ones. You also have to click outside the c1 window and back in it to get it to start making the ones it's decided it is going to make.

Jo,
This situation certainly warrants a Support Case. Please be so kind as to go to Support Website: http://support.phaseone.com
and Create a Case.
Please include detailed informatin regarding workflow, system specifications, type of Camera files, location of files etc.
Once the Case is logged we can work with you and dig deeper to find a solution to this issue.
Sincerely,

I repeated the deleting preferences routine and it now seems to be working. I'll let you know if it happens again.

The problem is back again. It occurs if I transfer files by drag and drop from a card to a previously created captures folder (it's the way I prefer to work). It starts generating a few previews then fails to do the rest. If you import the files through the capture one window that pops up asking if you'd like to import, the previews are created correctly.

Joanna,
It sounds as though there is a conflict between Phase One Media Reader and the Drag&Drop methods.
Open the Capture One Preferences and select Capture Naming preferences and make sure the option to Bring up import dialog when a Compact Flash card is inserted is disabled. This should eliminate this conflict, but of course - be sure to let us know.
Sincerely,
k c0
