"View > Place Tools ... "
Every command and sub-command on the View menu is worth seeing, practicing, and learning.
I currently have the following key bindings:
Toggle Viewer n
Toggle Browser b
Toggle Guides ,
Toggle Tools Sidebar .
Toggle Viewer Toolbar /
Toggle Toolbar t (this is currently useless, as the program window is shrunk the same amount as the Toolbar is high)
Toggle Viewer Labels p[/color:1s4s7i17]
Turn Browser Labels off o[/color:1s4s7i17]
Show Browser Edit Labels i[/color:1s4s7i17]
NB: Several of the above interfere with the default Cursor Tool shortcut keys. I haven't found anything that explains how the interference is parsed, or how to change the default Cursor Tool key bindings. Anyone?
I would like to use the "m" key, but I can't get C1P9 to accept it for any command. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Note that "Help > Keyboard Shortcut Summary" brings up a helpful list of your current key bindings. (Attn: Phase One — this would be 2x as helpful if it also showed the default bindings in an adjacent column).0 -
thanks! i actually did a search and looked for the answer in help... 0 -

"m" is used buy C1 Pro to toggle the mask on and off so I think that's why you can't use it for anything else.0 -

Thank you! I'm sure that's correct.
1. Is there any way to change or over-ride the key binding of "m" to the toggling of "Always display Mask" and "Never display Mask"?
2. Is there any way to retain the behavior "Only display Mask when drawing" _and_ use "m" to toggle the display of the Mask? Once one executes either "Always display Mask" or "Never display Mask", the setting "Only display Mask when drawing" is de-selected (and afaict there is no key binding to re-select it). I find it much more useful is to retain the setting "Only display Mask when drawing" and still be able to show/hide the Mask with a hot-key*. Is there a reason "m" toggles _a setting_ instead of simply toggling a _condition_? At the least, is there a way to toggle with a single hot-key between "Only display Mask when drawing" and "Display Mask".
* The wording of the command begs the question. What I want is "Display Mask when drawing", not "Only display Mask when drawing". (And finally a nit that should have been picked: the command that is executed is "Display Mask only when drawing", which means something different than "Only display Mask when drawing". Fwiw, Aperture has a Brush setting which in fact displays only the masked areas when brushing on adjustments.)0 -

If you want to use the "m" key for another shortcut, you could use the Command Key + m. I don't think you can change the mask toggle button (m) on it's own, I haven't seen the option in "Edit Keyboard Shortcuts...." which is under the "Capture One 9" menu header0
