    Hi PeterW,

    Question: Do you...
    a) import the images from DVD with the Import Images option in CO4 (this should work)
    or do you
    b) copy the images from DVD to your hard disk first and next open them in CO4 (this will give problems due to the read-only bit due to its origin (DVDs are R-O media) ).

If the latter is the case, remove the R-O bit with Windows Explorer (or other tool which you prefer).

If none of these options apply, please specify in more detail what your problem is.

    Hi Paul
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I have just received the following message from "support" so guess I will have to copy to hard disk then import

    "" Hi Peter,
This is a known issue with 4.0.1. "Loading" message appears in Preview window when loading from CD/DVD. They are working on a fix. Please copy the files to the comptuer and view in Capture One.
    Kind Regards,
    Phase One Technical Support""

    Hi Peter,
I too think that copying first is best. But mind the read-only bit issue. If you - in CO4 - see the raw file thumbnails with a "eye" symbol, and you can't make any adjustments, you must first remove the read-only bit of the files.

Yes, it's a bit of a pain! Whereas with V3.7 you could upload from cd/dvd straight into C1, now we have to download them to the computer, and then back into C1.
    The price of progress? 😄

Partly because v3 had a central cache for settings and previews. As V4 creates sub-folders within the image folder for previews and settings, then it would not be able to write them to a DVD/CD!
