3.7, it's bugging me!
I seem to not be the only one who is having problems with the new version. It feels like Phase One may have been premature in their full release. I really want this software to be as good as it can be.
My main gripes at this stage are:
- has anyone been having the problem where, if you have a group of selected images and hit the \"process\" button, the software will only process the thumbnail you are viewing in the preview window. It is driving me nuts. I walk away, thinking I've set 50 images to output to find it's only done 1!
- When I set levels and curves adjustments, it is taking ages! Much slower than on previous versions.
- The software has been crashing quite often.
- They still haven't fixed the problem that others have talked about, which is when you have a group of selected pics, you can no longer preview different images within that selection, without losing the whole selection. Older versions allowed you to do this.
- Why don't they have even a one-step undo? for those times when you accidentally use the eye-dropper tool somewhere in an image which has a good White balance, making it go haywire, instead of having to find another image the same, or a neutral grey in the pic again.
- Why can't you remove a rotation, the same way you can remove a crop? By clicking outside the box?
for the record, I'm running 3.7 on a G5 dual 2Ghz with 2.5Gb Ram, a 1.25 Ghz G4 laptop and a P25 on an H1.

lucasallen,
Processing: The Thumbnail pane must be active, i.e. images are highlighted Blue, inactive and they are Gray. At the Process tool, you choose the image output, then select the Thumbnails you want to process, and hit the Process button. All that are selected are processed. If pane is inactive, only the first image processes.
Software Crash: crash logs help greatly and should be sent along with a Support Case. Explain in detail what other programs were open and what you were doing when the crash occurred. All details are important.
The Thumbnails losing selection issue has been reported. You can too directly through Provide Feedback... This feature went back to v3.1. I don’t know why it was removed, there may well be a programming explanation, or it may be a mistake.
Workaround: using the tagging capabilities of v3.7 You select Thumbnails, apply a value tag, and this group of thumbnails can always be selected at any point, at any time.
1-step Undo: Reset to default, Reset levels, and Reset all exposure settings are all available to correct a mistake. Reapplying a WB from a greycard to the image or selecting neutral area within image a just a few clicks. A 'step backward' as you describe would be a Feature Request to be sent to Provide Feedback...
Remove rotation: can be done by double-clicking the Cursor Mode tool and then hitting Reset 90° button or entering the value 0.0
Sincerely,
k c0
