    roine,

Starting October 16, 2006, for a limited time only, SanDisk will include a coupon in their Extreme packaging for online registration and download of Capture One for free in Europe, Americas and a few countries in Asia.

This is a SanDisk Promotion and apparently the March 31st date is the
other end for this Limited Time.
Any new information regarding this promotion will be at the web sites.
If you already have a coupon with Product Key for LE, then you have no worries.
    It will remain valid indefinitely.

    Sincerely,
    K C

Keith I have the same basic question. I just bought and extreme III card today (April 4) and it included the activation code on a paper coupon included in the package. In fact this is why I bought the product. But when I opened it ,the paper coupon definitely says the coupon is valid until March 31, 2007.

Your earlier message would imply that Sandisk cannot "unactivate" they code that they provided on the coupon and that it will remain usable for capture one LE on the phase one site.

    Is this true....?

If so, what would the "valid" date on the coupon mean and why would the put that on the coupon?

Basically, I would like to know if I need to return the cf card.

    Thanks...any help is appreciated.

    dnadrifter,

    'Tis True.

Not being a Marketing Person I can only guess at why there is a set End Date published...
maybe to call Time Out and see the # of Licenses they still have for continued promotions..
... maybe so a person cannot go buy a new card today and Expect a License for LE if a coupon in not included.
Within the timeframe for this promotion, some purchases were made that did not have the coupon inside.
Proof of purchase to SanDisk Support and they issued a Product Key.
This likely will not happen now.
So again, if you have in your hands a coupon, No Worries.

    Cheers,
    K C

I downloaded a trial version of LE and then purchased a Sandisk Extreme III card with the free LE activation code. I installed and activated the software on my desktop and laptop with no problems, the license allows 2 installs, correct. Today I get a message on my desktop that the trial period has ended, I had already activated the software, when I tried to re-activate it I get a warning stating I have exceeded the allowed number of activations for the key. I checked the license on my laptop and it shows a full install with one update remaining.

Is this related to the March 31 expiration or did I buy a Sandisk card with a used activation key.

I have also posted this question to support and have a case number.

    Jack M,

No, the Product Key does not expire.
Activations Exceeded is the message displayed when you attempt to activate
using the key and you already have the allotted 2 activations logged.
An activation will revert to a Trial and require a reactivation when a machine is altered from original activation because it is 'seen' as new.
    > any change in HD
    > Upgrade of OS
    > Reformat

When one does get this message, a Support Case needs to be submitted with Product Key and/or the email address for Profile.
Your Support Case will be resolved.

    Cheers,
    K C

    Keith,

All is well now, contacted support and they had it fixed this morning.

I'm not sure what happened, no changes to hardware, OS or reformats. The only drive change is my firewire card reader that is plugged in and out as needed. Support mentioned a possible problem due to partitions in one of my hard drives.

Great product and support, thanks for the help,

    Jack

    Kieth,

The software has reverted back to a trial version 3 times now. I have been able to re-activate by contacting support and having them reset the activation limit.

There have been no hardware or software changes other than my firewire card reader and my usb external hard drive.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Jack M,

Please review this Thread for what we do know:

    http://forum.phaseone.com/viewtopic.php?t=3155

We have never had a Case where a USB Ex HD or a CF Card Reader has
reverted to Trial state. But with the variety of devices and the way they may be configured with Drivers and such... it could happen I suppose.
I'll encourage you, if you have not already, provide as much detail about your
workflow, make&model of devices used, and system configuration in you Case so we can learn from it.

    Sincerely,
    K C

    Keith,

In regards to the link you provided, we are both using Maxtor hard drives.

The latest time it reverted back to trial (5 times now) was after I plugged in the firewire card reader. The computer was running, C1 had been opened and closed several times with no problems, only after plugging in the card reader did I get the warning 'back to trial version'. My card reader is a Lexar RW019. As a test, I am going to re-install C1 and use a USB reader, provided I can get support to reset my activation limit.

    Jack
